In the name of God Amen the eleventh day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighteen, I Elizabeth TARENT of Gillingham in the county of Dorset, widow, being weak and sick of body but of sound and perfect memory (thanks be to God) do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following. Item. I give and bequeath unto my grandchildren John, Elizabeth, Mary, Joanna and Thomas DOGGRELL the sum of thirty shillings apiece to be paid to them respectively within 12 months next after my decease. Item. I give unto my grandchildren Morganand Mary SANGER the sum of thirty shillings apiece to be paid to them respectively within 12 months next after my decease. Item. I give unto my son Thomas TARENT the sum of ten pounds to be paid to him within six months next after my decease in case my said son Thomas shall be then living and not otherwise. As also the bed I now lie on with the bedstead and two blankets, two sheets and two bolster cloths, the largest chest, the great brass crock, two pewter dishes, one porringer and one J---- stool, the great brewing tub, one trendle and one barrel. But if my said son Thomas shall not return to reside at Gillingham then the goods before by me given to my said son Thomas shall be and remain to my executor hereafter named. All the rest, residue and overplus of my goods, chattels, credits and personal estate after my debts, legacies and funeral expenses are fully satisfied and paid, I do give and bequeath unto my son-in-law Henry WHITE whom I do hereby make and ordain sole executor of this my last will and testament (revoking all forms and wills by me made). In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written in the presence of these credible witnesses who were desired by me to be witnesses to such my setting my hand and seal and publication hereof and to attest have also set their hands in my presence.
